Welcome!
The Sigurd Michelson Trade School Memorial Scholarship* was established by Judy Michelson, our 1st Vice President, in loving memory of her late husband, Sigurd Michelson. Sig was a firm believer in the value of occupational education as a means to prepare students for the workforce, fulfilling the needs of our community, businesses, and industries. He often said, “College isn’t for everyone,” underscoring his belief that skilled trades are essential and rewarding career paths.
This scholarship is dedicated to students who are pursuing vocational or trade education. Whether you aspire to be an electrician like Sig, a plumber, a mechanic, or any other skilled tradesperson, this scholarship is here to support your journey. It aims to honor Sig’s legacy by empowering individuals who are ready to build, create, and contribute to our communities through hands-on, practical skills.
